Occupational therapy supports individuals in building the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills needed to participate in everyday activities. OT services can support a wide range of needs, including pediatric development, stroke rehabilitation, mental health support, return to work planning, and long-term disability management.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Harjot Shoker

Harjot Shoker is a Registered Occupational Therapist with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Her journey into OT began with a love for health and helping others — and once she saw how occupational therapy could empower kids and families to thrive, she was hooked!

Harjot has a special passion for pediatric and neurorehabilitation, helping little ones (and grown-ups too!) build confidence, coordination, and independence through play-based, engaging therapy sessions. Whether it’s improving focus, mastering motor skills, or supporting recovery after an injury, she blends fun, creativity, and evidence-based techniques like sensory integration, vestibular-ocular therapy, and vibration therapy to make every session meaningful.

Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Harjot connects effortlessly with families from all backgrounds. Her sessions are full of encouragement, laughter, and progress — helping children reach their goals while feeling supported every step of the way.

Assessment

The assessment fee is inclusive of: 

  • A intake to learn more about you/or child and discuss areas of strength and concern 

  • In clinic assessment including formal and informal assessment measures 

  • Detailed report with recommendations  

Our services are eligible through private extended health care insurance as well as the Ontario Autism Program core clinical services funding.

  • Sessions are engaging and goal focused. Activities are designed to feel meaningful and motivating while building skills such as coordination, balance, attention, and emotional regulation. Individuals and families are provided with practical strategies to support progress outside of therapy.

  • We work with children, adults, and seniors, supporting developmental milestones, school readiness, and functional independence at every stage of life.

  • Our occupational therapist uses evidence based approaches, including:

  • Yes - we do direct bill to insurance. Many extended health plans cover OT services, though coverage varies by provider. We’re happy to help you check your benefits and assist with direct billing whenever possible.

  • You can book an initial assessment where our therapist will meet with you, discuss your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. Ongoing sessions are then scheduled to support progress and functional goals.

  • Session length and frequency depend on needs and goals. Most sessions last 45–60 minutes, typically once a week. After the initial assessment, your therapist will recommend a personalized treatment plan.

  • Absolutely! Parent involvement is key. Our therapist may invite you to observe part of the session, discuss progress afterward, and provide tips or home exercises to help your child continue building skills between visits.

  • Yes! Occupational therapy can absolutely be used alongside other medical or therapeutic treatments. In fact, it often works best that way. Many benefit from a collaborative approach, where OT complements care from professionals such as physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, pediatricians, or chiropractors.

  • Yes! Upon request, we can provide progress reports and collaborate with families, educators, physicians, employers, and other health care providers to support success at home, school, work, and in the community.
